Apostrophe Puzzles is a Black owned & founded company with a mission to highlight artists of color in the vast and sometimes inaccessible world of art. Playing With The Past Puzzle exhibits the gorgeous work of Liz Flores, a painter and muralist based in Chicago, Illinois. Her work experiments with the ways in which the human condition—with its interplay between emotion and memory—can be represented abstractly. She engages everyday human experience and the feminine body by using shape, color and the human form as a mode of visual storytelling.
Her mural work can be found throughout the Chicagoland Area and New York City. In addition to working with private and commercial clients, her work has been exhibited in galleries throughout Chicago and is driven by her interests in womanhood, belonging and inner life. When she’s not in her studio, she can be found frequenting local coffee shops with a sketchbook in hand.
